The Olympian

MVCDS held winter Olympics this past week and Arianna is extremely proud of her award certificate and gold medal she had won.  She is so proud she insists on sleeping with the medal at bedtime.  I have to wait for her to fall asleep and then take it out of her hands because I am afraid of it somehow wrapping around her.

Congrats on the gold, Arianna!  You definitely are a winner!

Crafty Kids

I am hoping that spring comes soon because the kids are getting very stir crazy and I am running out of things to keep them entertained.  Today Ryan and I broke out as many art/craft supplies as we could and just let the kids go to town.  I don't think the glue was such a great idea as it got all over the kitchen table to accompany the remnants of caked on flour I can't seem to get off (see previous posts).

So today we made....

and then....

and then....

and then....

 and lastly...

Now time to go clean the house.  Please spring, get here soon!  My kids need you!

Who's in the box?

Scary!

Oh, it's Arianna!

Sledding we will go

What to do on another cold, rainy/snowy day?  How about decorating sleds for the baby dolls?  I grabbed two cardboard trays that held our water bottles and gave them to the kids to decorate; this way their babies could go sledding in style.  I have to admit that this was a better idea than yesterday's in which I put flour all over cookie sheets for the tots to draw in with their fingers - BIG MISTAKE!  The next thing I know, there is flour over the entire downstairs dining room and it took me over an hour to clean up.  Note to self:  Do not try to wash the floor or wipe the table down with flour on it:
flour + water = disaster

I refused to take pictures of the flour finger drawings and aftermath but here are some pics from the sled decorating:

Googleberry Pie

Rylan and Arianna's favorite show on television is Noddy, featured on the Sprout channel.  Noddy is a funny little elf that has many friends and likes to bring them googleberry pie to show how much he cares.

As per the kids request, they decided to host a picnic for their nearest and dearest stuffies/dolls and make them googleberry pie just like Noddy does.

Birthday Girl! The Big 4!

Sunday, January 31st 2010 was Arianna's fourth birthday.  We decided to have her party on Saturday so we could accommodate most of the family's schedule.  Now, as I posted last year, Arianna was sick, sick, sick on her third birthday and she slept on the couch throughout most of her party because it was too late to cancel when we realized she was ill.  This year, the night before the big day, Arianna wakes up screaming from her bed.  I go to check on her and she starts to violently throw-up all over the floor.  Seriously, does this girl have a time switch for when to be sick? Arianna only threw-up twice that night and the next morning she was running around like nothing every happened.  Unfortunately Rylan and I got the stomach bug a few days later but that is a different story and glad it is over.  The birthday party was a big success and the birthday girl was in all of her glory. I cannot believe that our girl is getting so big before our very eyes and I look forward to seeing what her fourth year of life will bring.  Happy birthday, big girl!
